Dr. Munch practiced Ophthalmology for 32 years with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Santa Clara where she concentrated on general Ophthalmology with an emphasis on Cataract and Oculoplastics. Before retiring in 2007 she was the Ophthalmology Department’s designee charged with designing and overseeing the building of their new Eye Clinic and Eye Surgery Suite as part of the state of the art Medical Center opened in 2005.
Born and raised in New York State Dr. Munch received her BA in Music from the Eastman School of the University of Rochester where she also acquired her pre-med education. Following three years as a social worker in New York she entered the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia graduating in 1971. She moved south to Washington D. C. for her Internship and Ophthalmology Residency training at the Washington Hospital Center/National Eye Center after which she moved to California joining KPMG in 1975. She is a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Peninsula Eye Society, past member of the Santa Clara Medical Society and California Medical Society.
Dr. Munch is currently Chairman of the Board of Help Is On The Way Ministries. She has volunteered as an Ophthalmic Surgeon in Ghana for over 16 years and most recently has worked with developing HIOTWM missions to provide potable water to two villages in the Volta area of Ghana.
Married to William F. Taylor Dr. Munch enjoys skiing, hiking, scuba diving, bicycling, singing, photography and travel.
